Patch Cedar Falls, IA --It's been almost a week since the Concert for the Angels, and organizer Sarah Werkmeister said the blessings just keep coming.
The concert raised $31,000 to build a memorial for murdered Evansdale cousins Lyric Cook-Morrissey, 10, and Elizabeth Collins, 8.
"It went really well," Werkmeister said. "Just to see everyone come together, it was beautiful."

She said she's appreciated stories from people who said the concert left them feeling inspired - and the stories keep coming in. She shared a Facebook message she received today from one person who attended the concert:
"The Concert for the Angels sparked me to strive to be a better person. I took my son, and we received a Pay it Forward Ticket when we got there. He learned a lesson of giving and being a thankful receiver at that moment. He and I enjoyed every minute of the concert, he wants to be a Police Officer and when he witnessed the dedication to the First Responders, he looked at me with teary eyes and I knew that it just reiterated why he wants to be one."
"I'm realizing a lot of people gained more than I even realized," Werkmeister said. "A lot of people left feeling inspired. It's wonderful just to know that everyone was touched by it."
Werkmeister said the next project on her plate is helping promote the "Ride and Drive in Honor of Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins," to be held in Evansdale July 13. Part of the proceeds of the ride will go toward the memorial and part will go to Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers.
She's also continuing work on an online auction to raise money for the memorial. The auction is at angelsconcert.com. Reported by Patch 19 hours ago.
