A domestic assault trial against Daniel Morrissey has been delayed.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the trial, which was meant to start today, has been postponed due to witness scheduling issues. A new date has not been set.
Morrissey, 36, the father of Lyric Cook-Morrissey, pleaded not guilty to criminal misconduct and conspiracy to manufacture of methamphetamine earlier this month. Those charges will be heard in a separate trial.
Lyric, 10, and her cousin Elizabeth Collins, 8, disappeared while riding their bikes in Evansdale last July. Their bodies were found in December. The search for their killer is ongoing. Reported by Patch 21 hours ago.
